Update (Dec. 12, 7:33 p.m. EST):

Billboard now reports Cole is actually headed to first week sales closer to 550,000 first week, with 360-380,000 of those being traditional album sales. If so, it'd be the biggest sales week for Cole in his career so far.

Original Story:

The boy J. Cole has done it again. After releasing his latest album 4 Your Eyez Only on very short notice, the project is projected to do major numbers.

The LP, which was released yesterday (Dec. 9), is forecast to move between 400,000 and 500,000 copies in its first week out, reports Hits Daily Double. According to the site, the album had a "blockbuster" number of pre-orders, which is helping sales soar.

With these numbers, the album should easily score the top spot on next week's Billboard 200.

Jermaine's previous album 2014 Forest Hills Drive was also released in December, in 2014. Also released on very short notice, the project had no problem doing numbers as well, as it moved 353,000 units in its first week and also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Though the latest offering was released on short notice, the album didn't come without some drama. Cole released the documentary Eyez which featured the tracks "False Prophets" and "Everybody Dies" which caused a stir in the hip-hop community over veiled remarks he made about Wale and possibly Kanye West and Lil Yachty.

Like his previous album, 4 Your Eyez Only doesn't have any features. The 10-song project contains production from Boi-1da, Frank Dukes, Cardiak, Vinylz, Childish Major, Elite, Ron Gilmore and others. Check out the full list of production credits here.
