Yet another passing to report in 2016, as comedian Ricky Harris has died this week at the age of 54. Harris died on Monday (Dec. 26) of a heart attack, his manager, Cindy Ambers, confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.

Harris contributed several skits to such classic hip-hop albums as Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle, Ice Cube's AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted, Warren G's Regulate... G Funk Era and more. Harris is remembered by those rapper's and others in the gallery above as well as in the posts included below.

"Lost one of my dear friends today," Snoop Dogg says in the below video. "A lot of y’all may know him as a comedian but he was a real dear friend of mine. Long Beach original. The first comedian from Long Beach to make it, the first entertainer to make it from Long Beach." Harris contributed three skits to Doggystyle, appearing on "W Balls," "Ain't No Fun (If the Homies Cant Have None)" and "Doggy Dogg World." In addition to his musical contributions, Harris appeared in Heat as well as Everybody Hates Chris and this year's The People v. O.J. Simpson.

Questlove remembers meeting Harris more than 20 years ago, writing, "our FIRST LA show in 94. Ricky Harris showed us so much love man. 2016 man keeps taking and taking and taking." This year has no doubt taken far too many important voices, within hip-hop and beyond, with condolences sent out to Harris' family and friends.
