It's been over a year since we got a new official Chief Keef project, but on Monday (Dec. 12) the Chicago rapper posted cover art to Instagram for a new project called Two Zero One Seven. In the caption, he provided a release date of Jan. 1.

It was a busy 2015 for Sosa, who saw his "Faneto" take off as a local hit. He dropped Bang 3 part one and two as well as mixtapes like Nobody Part II, Finally Rollin 2, Sorry for the Weight and Almighty DP. This year's been much quieter, though a full-length project produced entirely by Zaytoven called Camp GloTiggy made its way online.

Back in Oct., Keef made headlines at a concert by calling out rappers with colored hair. “All these faggot ass niggas rapping today? Shaking they booties and all that gay ass shit? Until 2017, that’s how long they got … on my kids, on blood," he said in the clip.

There's no doubt rappers like Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti have been influenced by Sosa's innovative style, though it's unclear whether Keef was talking about them specifically.

For his birthday in August, Sosa got a Rolls Royce and dropped two new songs. Listen to those here.

It's an interesting time for the 21-year-old rapper, who Bow Wow recently said is banned from B.E.T. (Keef later responded). It's also unclear what his label situation is, as he was last signed to FilmOn TV under the Greek magnate Alkhi David, but has since had his contract "suspended" due to management issues. Keef is said to have signed a seven-album deal with the company.
