The A$AP Mob recently honored A$AP Yams by releasing Cozy Tapes Vol. 1, a project their manager was working on before his untimely death. The group has now added to the celebration of Yams' life by releasing a book which compiles their leader's best tweets.

A$AP Yams Gems is on sale now at the Trap Lord online store for $45. All proceeds from the book will go to the A$AP Foundation, which is dedicated to the purpose of greater drug abuse awareness and prevention.

Acute mixed drug intoxication caused the death of Yams, but his friends and family are working to prevent it from happening to anyone else. Yams' mother, Tatianna Paulino, penned an essay in which she asked for more discussion about the dangers of opioid use.

“Was he aware of the potential dangers of mixing opioids with other sedatives? I certainly wasn’t,” she wrote. “Even if it makes us uncomfortable, I wish public health messages about drugs were more clear and simple in emphasizing real concerns as oppose to hyping less likely outcomes.”

Paulino dealt with the unimaginable pain of losing a child, yet she still focused on how to help other young people going through a similar situation to her son.

"To be clear, I recognize that parents, including me, should discourage drug use," she continued. "But, you should also know that my son wanted to get high, not die. And because this is the case for many young people, whether we like it or not, we should do all we can do to keep them safe and alive. It’s the humane thing to do.”

One can only hope that the tragic loss of Yams has stopped a young fan from taking opioids or led someone dealing with addiction to seek help.
