Just a few days after declaring that he'd be quitting Power, 50 Cent has officially signed on for his next big screen project. Deadline reports that the G-Unit boss is all set to star in STX Entertainment's upcoming crime thriller, Den of Thieves.

Den of Thieves will be directed by Christian Gudegast from an original screenplay he wrote alongside Paul Sheuring. Gerard Butler will be Fif's co-star. The new film is described as a Heat-esque "crime saga," and it's scheduled to begin production on Jan. 30.

50's doing some serious work flexing his dramatic muscles, but it'd be cool to see him showcase more of his comedic chops on the big screen, considering he usually saves those for Instagram. Just the other day, the Animal Ambition rapper clowned Soulja Boy after the "Crank That" performer was arrested for violating his probation. The arrest came in response to Soulja threatening Quavo with guns on Instagram.

“Shit be crazy out here. First Soulja was like, ‘Quavo want some beef with me.’ Couple days later he was like ‘Quavo call police on me.’” Fif said in the now-deleted Instagram post. “You know what kind of gun they found? I hope they ain’t find that draco. Find something else don’t find that draco. I know that nigga stressed. Niggas calling 1-800-Tips on a nigga? What the fuck did you do?”

Leave it to 50 to always have something to say.
