Young M.A Accused of Running Off With $33,000 Without Performing
Update (Nov. 28, 4:34 p.m.):
Before a show in Georgia Sunday night (Nov. 27), Young M.A hopped on Snapchat and told fans she'd start recording footage before every show, alluding to the claims the New Orleans promoter made. "It's fucked up that I gotta make these videos before I do these shows now because these niggas dragging my name in the dirt over some bullshit that ain't 'cause of me," she says in the video below. "If you fuck with me, please don't believe everything you see in the media."
It looks like a few people are more than a little upset with Young M.A. In a new Instagram video, a young New Orleans-based promoter accuses the "OOOUUU" rapper of taking his $33,000 without fulfilling her promise to perform at the club their agreement specified. You can peep his account of the alleged incident up top.
The promoter, who goes by the name Winston and claims Tank Dawg Records, says that Young M.A backed out of her agreed upon performance when she decided the venue wasn't "packed enough" for her liking. According to him, M.A explained that someone on his end told her not to bother attending the venue, but Winston wasn't going for it. Winston also says M.A wasn't the most pleasant person to work with.
“Young M.A had a nasty attitude the whole time,” Winston says of his dealings with the Brooklyn upstart. “I called her about my back end because she didn’t show. She ran to the airport with her management team. They stop answering the phone.”
M.A's alleged refusal to make good on her alleged agreement with the club promoter hasn't sat too well with Winston or his friends. In subsequent Instagram videos, Winston and some of his gun-toting associates send some threats in M.A's direction, and even appear to be making a diss track over "OOOUUU," the song most responsible for thrusting her into the national spotlight.
M.A has yet to respond to Winston's allegations, but we hope both sides can work this out peacefully. XXL has reached out to Young M.A's team for comment.
