Disgusting Pray for Ye Merch Pops Up the Day After Kanye West Gets Hospitalized
The Big Cartel-hosted commerce website PrayforYe.com popped up late last night (Nov. 21), claiming to sell t-shirts and hoodies with the words "Pray for Ye" written across the chest and arms. With price points ranging from $30 to $75, one item on the site, the "Pray for Ye" White Hoodie ($75), is already sold out. Though the site says "Get well soon, Mr. West. #prayforye," it makes no mention of where the profits from this concert-like merch are going. The fact that someone is trying to cash in on a rapper's mental health issues shows how shamelessly warped our society is.
West was hospitalized last night after cancelling the remaining dates on his Saint Pablo Tour. The TLOP rapper was taken to a UCLA Medical Center in the Los Angeles area for “evaluation” after police responded to a medical welfare call at around 1:20 p.m Monday afternoon.
The #prayforye hashtag quickly took off on Twitter from accounts of Yeezy's loyal fans. While fans showed support, haters quickly came for Kanye's head claiming this was another whiny, public outburst similar to his 17-minute rant over the weekend at his Sacramento tour stop. It was within this rant that 'Ye called out Jay Z, Beyonce, Mark Zuckerberg and more for not supporting him and believing in his genius.
As more details surrounding Kanye's breakdown surface, fellow rappers like 50 Cent, Theophilus London, Twista and more have expressed support for the Chi-Town MC. Chance The Rapper, a young protege of Kanye's, stop a recent interview to express genuine concern for his mentor.
“I want to extend a very special prayer to my big brother, Kanye West," said Chano during an interview at BBC Radio 1 Extra. "I know there’s a lot of weird folks out there but you already know that I’m a hundred grand ... I want to just extend this prayer and this love from all the way in Britain. We might come home early to see this man. Happy Thanksgiving.”
