Hear Playboi Carti’s New Track “Red Lean”

Playboi Carti is back with a brand new track. Listen to "Red Lean" above, produced by Dolan Beats. A$AP ILLZ shared the track on his SoundCloud and took the dope photo that is the track's apparent cover.

The young Atlanta rapper's ascent has been a relatively obscured one, with Carti supposedly signing a deal with Interscope earlier this year despite having yet to drop a proper project. A$AP Rocky congratulated him on the deal back in September, days after Carti performed one of his biggest tracks, "What," at the G.O.O.D. Music pop-up shop in NYC.  He's been rolling with the A$AP crew for a minute now, but he's never even released a proper single for sale on iTunes or streaming services.

His success has been organic in a way that's subverted most record labels. SoundCloud has been his platform and his catalyst, racking him up millions of plays on songs like "What" with Uno The Activist and "Broke Boi." His social media presence is sparing, keeping a distance between himself and his bulging online fanbase.
