Producer L.T. Hutton Explains Why Tupac Biopic Doesn’t Have a Release Date

Back in September, a second trailer for the Tupac biopic All Eyez on Me was released, a new look at the film given to fans on what would have been the rapper’s 45th birthday. In the weeks and months since however, all has been quiet, the film still without a release date, though IMDb inexplicably lists tomorrow, Nov. 11. L.T. Hutton, who serves as a producer on the film, took to Instagram this week to clarify what's going on.

"There is no November release date," he says in the above video. "The release date is coming very soon. We didn’t push back, we never had the release date, we’re going to set that very soon. The film is healthy. The integrity of this film matters. That’s the most important thing. So there’s things I’m going to keep on fighting for and make sure this thing stays authentic. I promised to lie down in front of a Mack truck before I let somebody mess this film up and that’s what I'ma do."

Hutton doesn't get into any specifics but it seems his insistence on not making any concessions has caused a bit of a snag. He as well wrote, "THE NEGATIVE BULLSHIT PEOPLE CAN DO ALL THE LAME ASS INTERVIEWS THEY WANT AND CAN'T MESS THIS FILM UP !! THIS 10 YEARS OF BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS WAS THE HARDEST THING I HAVE DONE IN MY LIFE BUT I TOOK ON THE FIGHT AND GOT IT DONE !!!!"

In July it was reported that the film was on hold due to a song dispute, though what Hutton references seems more general than one specific obstacle. Catch his comments in full up above.
