Kendrick Lamar is making a splash at this year's upcoming Art Basel and it's all thanks to American Express. The credit and finance corporation announced today (Nov. 28) that the Compton rapper will be making a surprise performance at Art Basel 2016 in Miami this week and only AMEX customers can score a ticket to the coveted show.

"Card members and invited guests will witness a unique intersection of music and art as Kendrick Lamar will excite the audience with an electric performance as Shantell Martin conducts live sketching of a larger than life mural mapped to Kendrick’s music," shared AMEX in a press release. "These two will take the stage at the pop up Faena Dome in South Beach Miami, where Martin’s work will be projected throughout the dome and through the crowd."

The pop-up performance and live art show will take place Thursday, Dec. 1, at the Faena Hotel in Miami, Fl. Tickets for American Express holders went on sale today for $65 a pop. This is undoubtedly one of the hottest tickets for the art fair this year.

More and more rappers have become involved with the Sunshine State's week-long modern and contemporary art fair, now in its 15th annual year. And this isn't K. Dot's first time at the rodeo either. In 2013, Kendrick performed at a VIP event at Art Basel hosted by Kanye West and visual artist Vanessa Beecroft.

Cornrow Kenny isn't the only rap name scheduled to throw an event at this year's Art Basel. Miami native and 2016 XXL Freshman Denzel Curry announced last week that he'll be throwing two Art Basel parties in the city as a part of his Vortex series complete with live art and performances.
