Kanye West has been hospitalized for well over a week now, and details regarding his current state of mind and his stay at UCLA Medical Center haven't been spoken of publicly by anyone in his family. That is, until now. Today (Nov. 30), Kanye's stepbrother Hal Carmichael has broken their family's silence on his brother's well-being.

Carmichael, whose mother Cheryl was married to 'Ye's father Ray West, says the "Famous" performer has been shaken up since his wife Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris. “No one thought Paris would happen in a million years and now he’s seen it happen to Kim, it’s traumatizing," Carmichael tells UK publication The Sun. “Ye is tired, he’s hurt, he feels betrayed and he’s probably feeling depressed."

Carmichael continues, “It’s like who can he trust? You can’t trust anyone, even the people you’ve been paying to protect you. They haven’t been doing their jobs correctly." It should be noted that Kanye and Kim K recently let-go of their long time bodyguard, Pascal Duvier.

According to Carmichael, Kanye now not only fears for his life, but also the lives of his family. “I think Kanye got to a point when he was fearing for his life and for his family’s safety because of what went down in Paris – I think it took a toll on him. He ends up walking about worrying and thinking, who’s going to do what to me?”
