Today, Nov. 28, marks the 39th birthday of Houston rapper Chamillionaire.

The Houston-hailing rapper got his start in music thanks to a childhood friend. Cham and hometown friend Paul Wall collaborated on the album Get Ya Mind Correct in 2002. From there, the album caught the attention of major labels and the young MC was signed to Universal in 2005.

Chamillionaire is known for his biggest hit, "Ridin" off his debut album, 2005's The Sound of Revenge. With huge features from Krayzie Bone, Lil Wayne, Bun B, Scarface, Killer Mike and more, The Sound of Revenge debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 and went on to be certified platinum later that year by the RIAA. Chamillionaire and Krayzie Bone won a Grammy for Best Rap Performance By A Duo or Group for the song "Ridin'" in 2006.

Although Cham's follow up album, Ultimate Victory failed to match his previous win, the Houston rapper consistently released music in the mixtape circuit in subsequent years. Cham left Universal in 2011 but is still in music, acting as the CEO of independent label Chamillitary Entertainment.

Most recently, the H-Town MC has become known for his philanthropic work, as well as his entrepreneurial expertise within the tech world, having presented his Convoz mobile app alongside Snoop Dogg at the 2018 Upfront Summit in February.

Happy Birthday, Chamillionaire!
