DJ Khaled’s ‘Major Key’ Album Goes Gold

Five months after the release of his album Major Key and it looks like DJ Khaled has another one—another gold plaque, to be exact. On Sunday (Nov. 27), the We the Best Music Group boss used his Instagram to announce that his latest project has achieved gold status, posting a picture of his album cover placed in a gold frame to commemorate the occasion. Khaled gives a shout-out to his We The Best Music imprint, Epic Records and Roc Nation in his post, which you can see above.

Featuring guest appearances from Drake, Future, Jay Z, J. Cole, Nas, Bryson Tiller and many more, it isn't at all surprising to see Major Key go fold. This bit of success is just part of the routine for Khaled, who's been one of the biggest hitmakers in hip-hop for the last 10 years. He also appears to be looking toward the future, announcing that he's already working on a new project in the same Instagram post where he noted Major Key's newly minted gold status.

As great as it is to go gold, it still pales in comparison to at least a few other things—one of them being the birth of a new child. On Oct. 23, Khaled and his fiancée welcomed their son Asahd into the world, and recently, Khaled took to Instagram to introduce him to the world with a series of touching videos and photographs. In one post he wrote,“All my love ones meet my JOY!! MY HAPPINESS!! MY SON!! MEET MY SON!!!ASAHD KHALED YOUNG ICON!!!!!!!!," Khaled captioned a photo of the infant laying in a play pen.

Khaled continued, “My son truly showed me what love is what joy is what happiness is !!! ASAHD YOU SHOWED ME WHAT LIFE IS !! I’m so grateful GOD HAS BLESSED ME WIT MY BIGGEST BLESSING!!! ASAHD I GOT US FOREVER !! I LOVE YOU!! ASAHD YOU MY EVERYTHING!! MY LIFE HAS CHANGED ! FOR THE BETTER BECAUSE OF YOU SON!! MY TEARS ARE HAPPINESS , JOY!!!! ASAHD YOU MADE ME EVEN STRONGER !! ASAHD I HAD SUCH A BIG BIG AMAZING BLESSING YEAR!!.”
