It looks like Anderson .Paak and one West Coast legend are holding out on us. In a recent interview with the folks at Power 106, the Malibu artist revealed that he and rap-producer legend Dr. Dre have been in the lab together throughout 2016.

"We've been getting it in," Paak told the radio station about his work with the Chronic 2001 rapper. Paak has been on tour since January, but that hasn't stopped him from making music with the West Coast icon. "Whenever I'm in town I just go over there and kick it with him and make something. And we just put it away," he explained.

24 years after the release of his landmark debut album The Chronic, Dre is regarded as one of the most important figures in hip-hop. Apparently Dre doesn't let his stature prevent him from maintaining an easy going atmosphere in his recording sessions. "It's super chill, man. It's super cool," Paak said of his studio sessions with the Aftermath founder. " We just drink some Hendrick's gin and chop it up [...] We work really fast. He's always inspired off of something and I'm always sending him stuff when I'm on the road—all the stuff that I work on. I'm always making music so I'm always sending him ideas."

Paak went on to say that he wanted to "utilize" Dr. Dre's ear whenever he's able to. That bit of info really isn't all that suprising. Paak and Dre collaborated on several tracks for Dre's 2015 album, Compton. If the tracks they've "put away" are anything like the ones we heard on that project, we can't wait for their release.
