2015: Just in time for Halloween, ATL oddball rapper Young Thug dropped his second installment in his Slime Season mixtape trilogy called Slime Season 2 on Oct. 31, 2015.

Young Thug was in an interesting place career-wise during the release of SS2. The Rich Gang affiliate was in the middle of a beef with Lil Wayne over something to have to do with Birdman, egging things on by announcing his newest project would be called The Carter V in May. He was also combatting a series of music leaks that had happened over the past year and dealing with his debut album Hy!£UN35 being pushed back. Still, Thugger delivered 22 songs of hilarious punchlines, infectious hooks and screechy adlibs to hold fans over with on SS2.

Features on SS2 included features from Birdman, Rich Homie Quan, Yak Gotti, Trouble, Shad Da God and Lil Uzi Vert while production was handled by the likes of London on Da Track, TM88, Metro Boomin and Wheezy. The song "Big Racks" served as a jumping off point for Uzi Vert while many fans believed that Thugger and RHQ had mended their beef due to the fact that Rich Homie was on "Never Made Love." The breakout Internet hit of the tape was "Thief in the Night" featuring Trouble.

Since SS2, Thug has completed the trilogy with Slime Season 3, dropped two more mixtapes I'm Up and Jeffery and just recently graced the cover of XXL's Fall 2016 issue. To date, Thugger's debut album Hy!£UN35 still doesn’t have a solid release date.
