The 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards came with plenty of highlights, the top of which might be their annual cyphers, rappers grouped off in exciting and unlikely ways. Young M.A, whose "OOOUUU" has a serious claim for rap song of the summer, was placed with Dave East, Kur, Ms. Jade and Sam Black, finishing off the cypher with a 40-plus second display of rhymes. As she tells it though, her bars extended well past that but BET trimmed them down.

"Yo, they cut mad of my cypher, son," she says in the clip above. "You know, I said way more than that, they split my shit up and put that shit in some small ass time [frame]." Yesterday (Oct. 5), she followed up those comments with the below Instagram post. "Even tho it was chopped short.. I still appreciate the opportunity it's a couple things I touched on that they didn't show that's why I was a little disappointed," she wrote. "But I just want to say thank you to all my supporters for supporting me no matter what."

The abridged cypher shouldn't take away from Young M.A's night, which also included a live performance of "OOOUUU," with the audience rapping some of the more memorable lines in unison.

Watch Young M.A's cypher below, with freestyles, one-offs and loosies able to take on multiple forms if the buzz is right. Perhaps those cut lines will sprout up elsewhere on a future M.A track.
