Update (Oct. 26, 2:50 a.m.):

Turns out this was just a joke, folks.

Original Story:

Over 10 years later, it looks like Quas is finally back, as his official Instagram account posted an old graphic of Quas sitting in between Rakim and Eric B. on the cover of their 1988 album Follow the Leader.

"Proud to announce the reformation of Eric B, Rakim, and Quas. New album and tour in 2017," wrote Quas' account late Monday night (Oct. 24). Eric B. and Rakim recently announced their own comeback tour, and whether Quas is joining them or just being his usual comedic self, all signs point to a new album and tour from Madlib's helium-toned friend. Then again, seeing how this graphic is old, it could just be one of Quas' jokes.

The last official Quas release was in 2013, when Stones Throw put together the Yessir Whatever compilation, a collection of rare and unreleased Quasimoto tracks "recorded in Lost Gates CA, some time between the late 1990s and the present and the future."

As for Madlib, he quietly produced the shit out of Blu and M.E.D.'s Quiet Neighbor album in 2015, and with Freddie Gibbs now officially a free man, the prospect of their Piñata follow-up Bandana looms large. Don't ask about Madvillainy 2.

XXL has reached out to Stones Throw for comment and will update this post when we hear back.
