Let's get one thing clear: Kamaiyah is a star. Her debut project Good Night in the Ghetto, much as she wants to call it a mixtape, is album-caliber material, and "Fuck It Up," her collab with YG, is one of those songs you play for your friends to grab their ear and make them listen to the whole tape. Now Fader's produced a video for the cut, and you can watch it above.

The slapper's produced by DJ Official and comes with an ear worm of a hook, like most of the songs on Ill Yaya's tape. One of Kamaiyah's strengths has been her regional allegiance, and in the visual, directed by Chris Simmons, she rides around Oakland after being introduced by KMEL's own Shay Diddy, two touches that immediately draw the link between her and her hometown. She's since moved to Los Angeles in the past year, but continues to draw strength from the Bay in her music.

“The ‘Fuck It Up’ video was about bridging the Bay to L.A. gap,” Kamaiyah told Fader. “I wanted to bring the Town out in a positive way and to have fun. I think we were successfully able to convey the message.”

If you fuck with Kamaiyah, peep fellow Oakland rapper Ezale's new Tonite Show tape with Bay Area legend DJ Fresh. Together, Kamiayah and Ezale are leading the pack amongst some of the dopest new rappers coming out of the West Coast. Better start paying attention.
