J.R. Donato drops his Why So Serious? project, inspired by Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker in The Dark Knight. The 9-track mixtape features guest appearances from Wiz Khalifa, Sosamann and Levi Carter. Donato talked about how his love for Ledger's performance in The Dark Knight made him want to do the tape.

"I love the The Dark Knight with Heath Ledger," explains J.R. Donato. "The Joker is a very serious guy, but at the end of the day, the way he lives is on the edge: we could be here today, gone tomorrow. Why be serious? Just have fun doing whatever you want to do. I might tell a serious story but at the end of day, I want people to vibe out and have fun. Life should be fun. Everything will fall into place. I got this mentality from dealing with serious things going on with my family. I have uncles who were in the Feds and we stressed, we cried about them being there but they’re coming home soon and we’ll be able to be together again. Life experiences in general made me have this mentality. A lot of times I’m hard on myself but at the end of the day, you shouldn’t focus on things you can’t control, for real, for real. I ain’t gon' say I do that all the time, but it’s better to think bout positive things than negative things. Keep a positive mind-state."

The Taylor Gang MC gave a stellar performance on the label's TGOD Vol. 1 mixtape, which just released last week. The crew also announced that they signed its first major label deal with Atlantic Records. Things are about to get very busy for Wiz, Donato and Taylor Gang.
