In July, The New York Times reported that Gucci Mane spent a lot of time reading during his time in prison. Yesterday (Oct. 23), Guwop shouted out his favorite author, Malcolm Gladwell.

In his Instagram story from yesterday, Mr. Zone Six is walking to a private jet carrying Gladwell's 2013 book, David and Goliath. Obviously, Twitter took notice, as Kevin Amaya took a screenshot and posted the photo with the caption, "@Gladwell you know you've made it when @gucci1017 is reading your book #davidandgoliath." Gladwell caught wind of the tweet and replied, "Gucci Mane, ladies and gentlemen. This might be the greatest thing that has ever happened to me." A few hours later, Gucci quoted Gladwell's tweet and typed, "I read blink, outliers, and tipping point you my favorite author." You can view all of these Twitter exchanges below.

As aforementioned, The New York Times profiled Guwop a few months back and wrote that the Trap God, while incarcerated, studied the Bible as well as self-help books by Tony Robbins and Deepak Chopra. In other Gucci Mane-related news, the Atlanta rapper performed at Howard University's Homecoming concert on Friday night (Oct. 21) at EchoStage in Washington, DC. The 36-year-old artist is coming off his successful Woptober mixtape.

The 13-track project contains guest features from Rick Ross and Young Dolph. XXL's Preezy recently reviewed Wop's latest body of work, typing, "'I still don’t give a fuck how a fuckboy feel,' Gucci boasts on the Woptober opener 'Intro: Fuck 12,' which finds him reveling in the runaway success he’s enjoyed since plunging back in the rap game. Spewing pompous bars like, 'These niggas say they getting money, I can’t really tell/I made more money than them and I was in a jail cell' while urging listeners to 'Trust God, fuck 12,' Gucci proves that despite his lean frame, he can still talk heavy with the best of them."
