Producer Dun Deal Wins $300,000 Settlement in Georgia Court

Dun Deal, who has produced for Young Thug, Migos and more, has been awarded a $300,000 settlement by the City of Augusta/Richmond County, Georgia, Decatur Legal reports, after he was arrested by FBI agents on July 17, 2014 on false grounds. A deputy of the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office swore out a false warrant against the producer, real name David Cunningham, stating that his fingerprints were found on a getaway vehicle attached to a jewelry theft in an Augusta Costco. Cunningham in fact had no connection to the crime, despite a witness allegedly identifying him from his artist page on Facebook.

In addition to the settlement, the Sheriff's Office has agreed to issue a formal apology and to discipline the officers involved. Those unfamiliar with the producer's work may recall the Rich Homie Quan line "My producer cut hoes off, Dun Deal" off the Rich Gang track "Freestyle," which he produced. His most noteworthy production credits are likely Young Thug's "Stoner" and Migos' "Hannah Montana." He as well has credits on the recent 2 Chainz mixtape Daniel Son Necklace Don.

Dun Deal has yet to issue any statement on the settlement, which was just announced today (Oct. 25) though the below video was posted to Instagram overnight showing him hard at work.
