The 2016-2017 NBA season kicked off this week, the Philadelphia 76ers starting their year by hosting Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder Wednesday night (Oct. 26). The match-up was of particular interest considering the Thunder had watched Kevin Durant go west this offseason, while the 6ers were celebrating the debut of center Joel Embiid, who missed all of last year due to injury.

The Thunder won 103-97 despite Embiid's impressive stat line, and as Desiigner, who performed at halftime, learned the hard way, Philly fans are some of the most unforgiving. As seen in the above video, the rapper received boos, a local Associated
Press writer taking to Twitter to say, "Awful halftime performance by Desiigner. Booed off the court with his jeans down to his ankles & he ripped his shirt off."

It could be that Desiigner was a New York artist in rival territory or that he showed up in Philly on a particularly ripe night. Earlier in the evening, Russell Westbrook was flipped off and cursed out by a court side fan who was later ejected for his behavior.

When Desiigner performed at a St. Johns tip-off event in Queens earlier this month, he received a much different response, the students in attendance turning up with the "Panda" rapper at center court. Watch footage from last nights 6ers performance above and below, with the rapper likely to shake the boos off and keep it moving.
