Boogie is taking it back to where it all started. The Compton rapper drops his new mixtape titled Thirst 48 Part II, a sequel to his debut project. Although the tape is a sequel, it also marks a shift in Boogie's music.

"I've made three mixtapes about the same person," Boogie said in a press release. "This record represents the changes in that relationship as well as the my own growth as a person and an artist. West Side."

Boogie's growth is something that he's always displayed in his music. The Interscope artist believes listeners can benefit from the message he presents.

"My goal is to live my message out,” he told XXL last year. “I want to better my mentality of the youth and the people older than me. Not saying my mentality is the right mentality; I feel my message can help a lot of people as far as the cycle of gang bangin’ in a generation where it seems like we glorify it. I’m from it. I’m from the heart of gang bangin’. I don’t feel like I glorify it, I just tell my story."
