Mac Miller is in full album promo mode, gearing up for the release of his fourth studio LP The Divine Feminine tomorrow (Sept. 16). The Pittsburgh rapper stopped by Beats 1 recently (Sept. 14) to chop it up with Zane Lowe and in the process, divulged some studio secrets about one of the most anticipated collabs on the album. Mac talked to Lowe about what it was like working with Kendrick Lamar on the album outro "God Is Fair, Sexy, Nasty."

"We did a record in 2012 on this mixtape I had," Mac said in the interview snippet. "And there was actually a time when Kendrick Lamar was opening for me on tour. But this one it feels just like a moment. We were in the studio together. Like, we created something, which is my favorite thing because all these artists have their own creative minds and planets that they work on and you gotta create something new together for me. I don't want to go do a song with Kendrick and then go make a Kendrick song."

Mac goes on to describe the song with Compton's own as "a journey," which is what he was going for on every song from the album.

"It sounds like being in the ocean, relaxing, calm, floating and just like there and comfortable in your thoughts, and that's how the record ends, which is so awesome," says Mac.

When the Warner Bros. rapper and REMember Music founder first revealed the tracklist, longtime fans got excited at the news of Mac and K Dot working together again. The 2012 song Mac refers to is "Fight The Feeling", one of Mac's best cuts off 2012's Macadelic. The two were also named XXL Freshmen in the 2011 class alongside Meek Mill, Big K.R.I.T., Lil B and more.

One subject Mac didn't touch on with Zane was his long speculated and recently confirmed relationship with pop singer Ariana Grande. The "Side To Side" songstress confirmed she and Miller were an item while on The Ellen Show earlier this week. The union makes sense considering Ari and Mac linked up for a track on his album called “My Favorite Part.”
