Following the continued shooting of black men in the United States by police, Killer Mike and others participated in the All Black National Convention in Atlanta, with Mike delivering an impassioned speech in which he illustrates how, despite the growing protests, black Americans are not equipped to start the revolution they seek.

He begins by agreeing with his fellow panelists, and then asks the crowd who fishes, who hunts and who grows their own food. “You ain’t ready to oppose nothing," he says. "You are as a part of this system as any white person gentrifying in this city. And you can’t tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about because I’ve lived in this neighborhood long enough to know when two out of every five yards had a garden in the back."

He continued, "Black people, I love you, and I love you enough to tell you, you ain’t ready to revolt shit. You don’t feed yourself. You don’t prep your meat. You don’t own your own land. You don’t have a seed growing in your window. So you think about [revolution] and you think about fighting and dying in the street, you ain’t shit if you can’t feed your children."

Mike goes on to ask who in the audience practices a martial art and says he doesn't condone giving up on the cause, but adds, "Don’t you send these babies out to die because you feel like you missed the '60s and the '70s. I want to see more black attorneys, more law enforcement. I want to see more black people pulling their money to run their own candidates."
