Kid Cudi's new album did not drop today (Sept. 30) as originally planned, but he still managed to give his fans some new music. The rapper dropped his Pharrell-assisted "Surfin" and the official version of "Frequency" as a gift to everyone waiting on his LP. Both songs can be streamed via Apple Music.

"Due to minor sample clearances still being finalized, we miss our deadline for tonight’s release,” he wrote. “However, you will be able to purchase ‘Frequency’ and ‘Surfin’ within in the next 48 hours for your grooving pleasure to hold you over. Waiting to hear from the label on an official pre-order, release date [and] platform availability. Can’t have anything else hold this up and want to give them the time they need to handle their business and get your the right details."

Despite the delay, Kid Cudi was in good spirts about the situation. The anticipation surrounding his new album was a welcomed sight for the Republic Records artist.

“I can sense all of the excitement and love out there,” Cudi wrote. “It really makes my heart smile. No one could be more excited and anxious for you to consume the magical music candy I’ve prepared for you these past five months. I appreciate all the fam rooting for me as well as your patience."
