Jay Z and Beyonce are arguably the most powerful hip-hop couple in the game. Now, Jay and Bey are using their powers for good once again. It was announced today (Sept. 16) that the Carters are planning to throw a charity event hosted by Jay's streaming service Tidal at Brooklyn's Barclays Center next month.

Page Six reports that rap's Bonnie and Clyde will throw the event in conjunction with the Robin Hood Foundation. Concert proceeds will benefit Robin Hood, an education charity for children in New York City. Aside from Jay Z and Beyonce both helming the event and performing, other performers set to hit the stage include Lil Wayne, Lauryn Hill and Nicki Minaj.

This event announcement comes on the heels of the news that the streaming service reported $28 million in losses last year. And just yesterday, Jimmy Iovine, head of Apple Music, debunked the reports that Apple was looking to acquire Tidal, a claim that was first made in The Wall Street Journal back in June.

“We’re really running our own race. We’re not looking to acquire any streaming services,” Iovine told BuzzFeed.

Apple currently has around 17 million paid subscribers while Tidal has about 4.2 million. Last October, Jay Z and Tidal held Tidal X: 10/20 Festival in Brooklyn to celebrate the site's success thus far. Hov, Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Meek Mill, Rick Ross, T.I., Usher, Travi$ Scott, French Montana and more performed at last year's event. With Jay's list of contacts being the best in the business, there's no telling what special guests could pop up at this year's event.

Jay and Bey's charity event takes place Saturday, Oct. 15 and will be streamed simultaneously on Tidal.
