Happy Birthday, T.I.!

Today, Sept. 25, is the birthday of Atlanta rapper, producer and actor Clifford Harris Jr., better known to the hip-hop world as T.I. Tip is now 38.

Growing up in Bankhead, Atlanta, T.I. sold drugs and started rapping at an early age. Though he had bars, Tip's debut album, I'm Serious, in 2001 didn't make the impression he expected for a first effort so he came even harder on his second LP, Trap Muzik in 2003. Trap Muzik spawned the singles “Be Easy” and most notably, “Rubber Band Man,” which peaked at No. 30 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and fitted the Atlanta MC with a new nickname.

Always a hustler, T.I. established his own label, Grand Hustle Records in conjunction with Atlantic Records in 2003, ventured into acting with 2006's ATL and has dropped nine albums to date.

Showing his softer side, T.I. and wife, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle have started a reality TV show with their family in 2011, VH1's T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle. In March 2016, Tip and Tiny welcomed a baby girl into the world. This is the long-time couple’s third child together (including sons King and Major) and seventh addition to the Harris household.

A prolific MC, Tip dropped off Hustle Gang's first official album We Want Smoke this fall. Tip's also got more outspoken in recent years and has repeatedly clapped back at haters on phonies on social media and spoke out against the actions of President Trump.

Toward the end of 2018, Tip signed a new record deal with Epic Records and dropped off two new songs by the names of "Jefe" and "Wraith," once again signaling the coming of his long-awaited 10th studio album, Dime Trap. On Sept. 21, T.I. announced the coming of a new museum focused on the history of trap music.
