As Jerry Seinfeld explained so perfectly on Wale's 2010 track "Friends N Strangers," it's incredibly difficult to remain friends with your ex. Today (Aug. 12), Nicki Minaj's ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels tweets that he and Nicki can become friends if she "puts her pride to the side."

One Twitter user asked Safaree, "You think you and @NickiMinaj could ever be friends?" Safaree simply replies, "If she put her pride to the side yes... #stuntgang." In case you missed it, Safaree hit Nicki Minaj with a lawsuit back in May just three days after Meek Mill's birthday.

According to a Minaj tweet, Safaree apparently sued Minaj claiming that she "physically and emotionally abused" him while they were dating. Nicki proceeded to lash back at Safaree via Twitter, typing, "He’s so miserable… My man asked him to stop emailing me. I also asked him several times. This man can’t move on. It’s really sad. I have emails to prove it…Calling my mother crying. I said I’d help. But as soon as meek asked him to stop emailing me it’s a problem. LEAVE US ALONE!!!!! PLEASE!!! LIKE I CANT EVEN CELEBRATE MY MAN BDAY W/O THIS MISERABLE SON OF A BITCH TRYING TO EXTORT ME!!!!!"

So, is it realistic for Nicki and Safaree to resolve their issues amicably and potentially become friends? Or is their relationship a complete and utter lost cause? In other Safaree-related news, the 35-year-old NYC native is set to appear on season three of Love and Hip-Hop. You can watch the show, which will also start Fetty Wap, every Monday on VH1 starting Aug. 15.
