It's quite often that news pops up of a rapper being searched by police. More often than not, the rappers are quickly released because no weapons are found, allegations turned out to be untrue and no drugs are in sight. These cases are often deemed as racially motivated situations by rappers. XXL rounded up a few of these instances and put the magnifying glass on what really occurred. By our research, it's safe to say that next time your favorite rapper has an encounter with police, don't be so quick to write them off as guilty.

The most recent case relating to the subject is Dr. Dre's run in with the LAPD. The mogul was handcuffed and detained by police in late July after an alleged road rage dispute in his driveway. A driver was blocking Dre from entering his home and when Dre asked him to move, the situation turned sour. Authorities were called after Dr. Dre was said to have pulled out a gun but after searching the mogul, cops found nothing and he was quickly let go. In April, Tyga suffered a similar fate when police got a tip that gang members were rolling in Tyga's entourage.

French Montana, Juelz Santana, Rick Ross and Chris Brown have also been through similar situations when they were targeted by police. In the gallery above, look over situations that rappers have had with police whether it be car searches, the raiding of a home or the invasion of a video shoot.
