Tragedy fell upon a Granada Hills pool party Saturday night (Aug. 20) in Los Angeles when a shooting left two injured and rapper Kid Cali dead, KTLA reports.

The 30-year-old Los Angeles-based rapper was signed to Jaccpot Records, Washington Redskins wide receiver Desean Jackson's label. The NFL player shared his thoughts on social media after learning of Cali's death. "I'm at a loss for words," he wrote on Instagram. Kid Cali was remembered as well by Snoop Dogg, Nipsey Hussle, NBA forward Matt Barnes and others, including artist manager Steve Lobel who posted the above photo.

It is not yet clear what led to the shooting, or if the victims were owners or guests at the home, but police believe the incident occurred in the backyard of the residence. No suspects have been identified, and information on the shooter beyond the fact that it was a male is presently unknown.

“We would like people to cooperate and give a good account of what occurred,” LAPD Sgt. Humberto Najera said. “I understand that people here are scared, they’re frightened, so it’s natural that they would want to immediately leave.”

Police said that because the party was posted to social media, guests that the homeowners did not know began showing up, attendance growing to the hundreds. Authorities were called around 9 p.m and though many left the party before they arrived, investigators are hoping to speak to guests.

All condolences are extended toward the rapper's family and label. Read some of the online tributes to Kid Cali below.
