When Nardwuar meets a rapper, anything, including old photos and influences, is fair game and the Vancouver-based interviewer is bound to dig up some untold story or fact. Speaking with Lil Yachty, Nardwuar came equipped with his usual bevy of gifts, including a vinyl pressing of Coldplay's 2014 album Ghost Stories.

"Oh shit. Bro, this is my favorite album of all time," Yachty says upon receiving the gift. "I can sing every song on this bitch from head to toe. This is my favorite album from them." For those familiar with Coldplay's discography, that declaration may seem a bit strange, as the band is often heralded for such releases as 2002's A Rush of Blood to the Head or their 2005 follow-up X&Y. Either way, Yachty's enthusiasm is evident and when Nardwuar asks if he'd ever like to work with the UK band, Yachty says "so bad" before singing portions of “Always in My Head.”

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has collaborated with rappers before, most notably Kanye West and Jay  Z. Martin guested on Kanye's "Homecoming" and then Hov's "Beach Chair," a turn of events that Kanye recounted in his 2007 track "Big Brother." On it, he raps, "I told Jay I did a song with Coldplay / Next thing I know he got a song with Coldplay / Back of my mind I'm like 'Damn, no way.'"

Watch the interview above, where Yachty as well admits to some regretful tweets back in the day before he ever thought he'd blow up.
