New Kanye West Music Coming Today

The year of Kanye West continues on into August, with a pre-recorded interview planned to debut today on BBC Radio 1 at 2 P.M. E.S.T. What's more is that West has brought new music to the program, with host Annie Mac set to debut the cut, which, in typical Kanye fashion, could be from any number of planned albums, a product of the Pablo cutting room or something else altogether. The homepage of Mac's show says Kanye has the "hottest record," which is always new music.

Following Kanye's major release of The Life of Pablo, the rapper has announced a second solo album slated for this year with Turbo Grafx 16 as well as the second G.O.O.D. Music compilation Cruel Winter, for which "Champions" is the lead single. Kanye has also appeared on new music from Schoolboy Q, Chance The Rapper and Gucci Mane recently, so the form or placement of this new music is truly anyone's guess. For an artist who has at times placed a greater focus on his fashion pursuits, or taken years off between albums, the continued emphasis on music has resulted in a sort of unprecedented string of headlines and releases.

Portions of his upcoming BBC interview have been released ahead of time, with Kanye saying of his aspirations to run for office, "When I talk about the idea of being president, I’m not saying I have any political views. I just have a view on humanity, on people, on the truth. We are numb, we’re numb to 500 kids getting killed in Chicago a year, we’re numb to the fact that it was seven police shootings in the beginning of July. If there is anything that I can do with my time and my day, to somehow make a difference while I’m alive I’m going to try to do it."

Kanye additionally will speak on his dream of collaborating with IKEA, his experience headlining Glastonbury in 2015 and the string of recent cases of police brutality. Stay tuned for the end results of that interview and new music later this afternoon.
