Today, Aug. 22, is the birthday of Queens rapper Grafh. The MC is now 36.

Born Philip Bernard, the South Jamaica Queens rapper is an admired MC with nearly 20 years in the business. Grafh dropped his first tape The Bang Out in 2003 followed by The Oracle hosted DJ Green Lantern in 2004. With growing credibility in the game, Grafh worked with Clinton Sparks, DJ Chaplin, Big Mike and more to steadily supply the streets with tape after tape of new music for seven years straight before taking a break in 2012. His comeback tape, New York Dxpe, was hosted by DJ Mr. FX in 2014.

Grafh's bars have earned him respect from artists big and small. Everyone from Raekwon to Drake have given Grafh co-signs. Grafh has collabed with the likes of Royce 5'9", Styles P, Vado, Raekwon, Wiz Khalifa, Sheek Louch and more. Grafh dropped his major label debut in 2007 when he released Autografh on EMI/Virgin Records. Currently an independent artist, Grafh dropped his newest album, titled Pain Killers: Reloaded, in April 2016.

“You are distracted and detached from everything all day. You’re programmed not to feel, to never truly experience anything. Painkillers normally numb the pain, but you’re already numb. I just want you to take this and feel again,” said Grafh when describing the concept behind his latest LP.

Since then, Grafh has continued delivering bars, serving up a remix of N.E.R.D's "Lemon" and Drake's "In My Feelings."

Happy Birthday, Grafh!
