Future has been having a banner year, with the release of Purple Reign, EVOL and Project E.T. and MTV caught up with the prolific rapper before he joined Drake for the Summer Sixteen tour in July. Documenting a stop in Dallas on Future's own Purple Reign tour, the above video sheds some insight on the rapper's motivations and work ethic.

At the 2:04 mark, Future reveals the nonstop dedication behind his many projects. "I been going to the studio everyday for the last five years. People like ‘Why you work so hard why you always in the studio? Why you work more than anybody?’ Because I know I’m going to be worth more than them at the end of the day," he says. "I might not be there now, but once my work catch up to my worth, I’m gonna be a billionaire."

Along with his dizzying flows and runaway sounds, it's been Future's break-neck release schedule that has elevated him above many of his contemporaries. Since January 2015, he's released seven separate projects, but says that he's considered taking time off. "The day gotta come where I feel like ‘Man I’m taking off a year.’ To give me a total break where I’m not even going to the studio," he says. "I feel like it’s around the corner but it just hasn’t come."

Watch the documentary short up top, where Future as well talks about missing his aunt's funeral because of his work schedule and being the wave that everybody is trying to ride.
