Drake's short film has a premiere date. The Toronto rapper went on Instagram today (Aug. 26) to announce that Please Forgive Me will debut on Sept. 30.

"Please Forgive Me a short film by Drake and Anthony Mandler featuring musical score by Noah '40' Shebib coming September 30th," he wrote.

Drake previously announced his Please Forgive Me film would feature music from his latest album Views which recently went triple platinum. The OVO Sound founder put out a similar short film called Jungle in 2015. That video previewed some music that would end up on his If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late project.

The new release might finally shift some of the Drake conversation away from his beefs with multiple artists. The past few months have been consumed by the one-sided feud with Joe Budden, and Drake just reignited his issues with Meek Mill by dissing his rival in Meek's hometown of Philadelphia.

"And just remember, when you watch that video over and over tonight, it’s not about your city. I love your city,” Drake said of Meek Mill during the Summer Sixteen Tour performance. "You did that shit to your motherfuckin’ self, boy!"

Drake's latest jab at Meek Mill seemed to garner the attention of Meek's boss Rick Ross. The Maybach Music Group leader defended his artist during an appearance on the Drink Champs podcast. He also told hosts N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN that he is ready to diss Drake if it becomes necessary.
