Baton Rouge's own Boosie BadAzz has just given back to his city in a major way. According to a post on the his Instagram page, Boosie and his friend TQ have just donated 20,000 pairs of socks and underwear, bottles of water and hygiene kits to those affected by the recent floods in Louisiana's capital.

"Just doing what I can to help my people affected by the #brflood2016," reads the caption in Boosie's Instagram post. Boosie's act of charity is just the latest entry into what's been a summer of community involvement for many rappers. Perhaps the most notable one of them all is The Game.

In July, the Compton rapper started a GoFundMe page for a popular police officer in North Little Rock, Ark. A bit later, the "100" rapper hosted an L.A. gang summit with Snoop Dogg and Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan.  He invited people to attend with this message on Instagram:

“Calling: ALL AFRICAN AMERICAN MEN, MEXICAN AMERICAN MEN & any other RACE of REAL MEN with heart to stand with us today & walk peacefully to the LAPD headquarters. [LEAVE ALL WOMEN & CHILDREN AT HOME… THIS IS OUR MISSION FOR THEM],” Game wrote in the above Instagram post. “Do not: bring any weapons or anything illegal. Do not come high or belligerent.. We don’t need any HOT HEADS or anyone there for the wrong reasons… We will stand as we are, UNIFIED.”
