Top Dawg Entertainment CEO, Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith recently dropped a cryptic tweet that might signify a new project from a TDE artist could be dropping early next month. Yesterday (Aug. 6), after having not tweeted in over a week, Top simply dropped the date, "09.02.16 #TDE," into his feed. Without adding any context to the tweet the Internet went wild with speculation.

This is more than likely some sort of release date. So, if this is an album release date, who is dropping a project? We might have some clues. Back in February, Top damn near broke the Internet when he teased the label's 2016 release schedule. “Shit about to get nasty real soon,” Tiffith wrote. “I told y’all I got y’all in 2016.”

On top of the list was ScHoolboy Q, who at the time was just waiting for sample clearance according to the release schedule. Q has been the only person from the label to drop a full-fledged project. Next on that list was SZA. The songstress is currently working on her debut LP A. Putting two and two together, she seems like the mostly likely candidate to drop something new. But a lot could have changed since January. Case in point: in May, Kendrick Lamar came out of the blue and released the project untitled unmastered.

Q's new album Blank Face dropped back in July landing at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with nearly 75,000 equivalent album sales in its first week out.
