Vic Mensa Scratches ‘Traffic’ for New, More Personal Album

Fans have been waiting on Vic Mensa's Traffic album for a minute. Now, the Chi-town spitter says he's scratched Traffic in place of a new, more personal album.

"I made an album and then I didn’t feel like it was the right representation. So I started making a new album," says the Roc Nation MC. "That’s where the songs from There’s Alot Going On came out of. I would say it’s about 75% done."

As of late, the Save Money rapper has been outspoken on social media and in his music about the tragic events throughout the nation. In the interview, he delves further into his thoughts on police brutality in America, specifically discussing his song "16 Shots."

"Being from Chicago, Laquan McDonald being murdered by Chicago police was something that was very close to home. I’ve had a bad relationship with police as long as I can remember because that’s how the system is set up. I’ve been wanting to write a song like '16 Shots' for a long time to express that. The Laquan situation just put it on a world stage, so that was something I felt compelled to address."

The Innanetape MC also says he's filming a music video for the standout track "16 Shots."
