Vic Mensa has been making social statements and snapping on freestyles left and right. He recently did a little bit of both, going hard on a freestyle for DJ Semtex, addressing race problems in America and his recent issue with Justin Timberlake.

Last month, Vic called out the pop star on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore in response to Timberlake's tweets about Jessie Williams' now famous BET Awards speech.

“I feel as if the issue is not Justin Timberlake having an input or even appreciating what was said in the speech,” the Roc Nation rapper said on the show. “That’s something that everybody, most people can resonate with. Our problem here is that Justin Timberlake himself, you know, is definitely benefiting from using black culture for his sound, his dance moves, his dancers, and blowing up off of it. But if you roll down Justin Timberlake’s Twitter for the past two years, which I just did, you see nothing that supports black people when it’s more difficult, when there’s a struggle."

Vic used his Semtex platform to follow up on his thoughts about JT.

"Everybody wants to be black until the shit goes down/Then everybody turn their back when our clique scroll down your timeline, 'oh shit you're a hero now'/For the record, I aint got no problem with Justin Timberlake/That's a media spin don't believe the shit they say/All I'm saying is you got niggas that love you/So show that love to us back cause we here in the struggle," he spits.
