Opinions and commentary from fans following the release of the 2016 XXL Freshman cover is expected but this year, there was an outpouring of love and hate when it came to the memes on social media. The cover, freestyles and cyphers seem to have all warranted humorous imagery and the memes are still coming in. XXL compiled a list of the best memes we've seen on the Internet.

Desiigner's freestyle has been a huge element in the viral success of this year's freshman class. His "Timmy Turner" freestyle has inspired an array of memes, with some poking fun at his effort and others actually crafting visuals inspired by Nickelodeon's Fairly Odd Parents' lead character, Timmy Turner. Not to mention, the hashtag #TimmyTurner now has over 25,000 posts and umpteen parodies including the extremely popular, "chicken chicken parmigiana" remix, which you can see below.
