Former NBA Player Goes In on ASAP Rocky: “You Ain’t From Texas”

Former NBA swingman Stephen Jackson has never been one to hold his tongue. In February, Jackson said that his 2006-07 Warriors team could beat the 2015-16 Warriors, who went 73-9. Now, the 38-year-old Texas native calls out A$AP Rocky for his consistent use of the word "trill."

It seems a bit strange for Jackson to voice his opinion a whole five years after Pretty Flacko's breakout mixtape, Live.Love.A$AP.

In a since-deleted Instagram post, Jackson says, "I've got another message for A$AP Rocky, too. Say bruh, no more trill talk out your mouth, either. You ain't from Port Arthur. Me being a Port Arthur representative, a native, you can't say 'trill' no more. Cuz u ain't. Therefore, anybody in your camp that's using 'trill,' stop using it."

He continues, saying, "Rest in peace, Pimp C. I am Port Arthur, I am the president of Port Arthur, you better ask somebody. So therefore, the word 'trill' cannot come out your mouth no more, bruh. You hear me? And the whole Port Arthur is speaking with me. Therefore, find you another word, find you a New York word. You're not trill, you're not from Texas. Get your own swag."

Rocky found himself in the middle of Twitter controversy last week. Some hip-hop fans called him out for remaining apathetic and saying he's "not a politician" when it comes to the issue of police brutality in America.
