As the late great Tupac Shakur once opined, "nothing but pain" can come from "searching for fortune and fame." It's obvious that aspiring rapper Kasper Knight took that sort of sentiment to heart; or more precisely, to the face.

Earlier this week, the rapper uploaded a video to Facebook that saw him shooting himself in the face. His goal? Probably gaining exactly the sort of notoriety we and many others have just given him. The video has already been viewed over 500,000 times.

Knight says that he originally wanted someone to film him giving himself a gunshot wound, but no one agreed to do it. He obviously decided to take matters into his own hands. Considering that he did take a bullet to his cheek at point blank range, it was pretty miraculous that Knight was able to continue recording his video for a short time afterward. In the caption for his Facebook video, he claimed that the pain wasn't really a big deal.

"Anyway, this was really nothing. I've been shot a couple of time before and this was like a 4 out of 10 on the pain scale after the initial impact," Knight said. "I look slightly disorientated after the blast. That's because my ears were ringing in pain. It was hard to focus on sound and although I assumed that I swallowed the bullet I wasn't quite sure."

Although Knight has gained the fame he apparently wanted, it's unlikely that he'll be more famous for any of his songs than he is for this outrageous video. Still, he's earned our attention. With that in mind, keep it locked with XXL for more updates.
