Necro is back. The rapper/producer went on Facebook this past Monday (July 25) to announce he would be releasing a new album in two weeks. The album titled Fuck Commercial Rap will be Necro's first solo LP in six years.

The Brooklyn native, who is Non Phixion member Ill Bill's younger brother, has garnered critical acclaim over his career for his work as a producer. He's also been quite notable for his horrorcore style featuring violent and shocking lyrics. He founded a label called Psycho+Logical-Records in 1999 which he still runs to this day. In addition to his own releases, the label has put out albums by Ill Bill, Sabac Red and Goretex.

Necro's most recent project was a collaboration with hip-hop legend Kool G Rap. Together, the duo was known at The Godfathers. Necro and G Rap would put out two mixtapes before releasing their studio debut Once Upon a Crime in 2013. Necro also gained some new ears when Mr. Muthafuckin eXquire used some of the producer's beats. The I Need Drugs rapper gave his approval of their use.

"HE SEEMS TO BE PAYING HOMAGE AND SHOWING LOVE BY USING 2 NECRO BEATS ON HIS MIX CDS, AND HIS VIDEO DID WELL, SO I AINT MAD AT IT - ITS NOT LIKE A TON OF RAPPERS USE NECRO BEATS FOR THEIR MIX CDS - IT SHOWS HE HAS GOOD TASTE - PLUS I HAVE USED OTHER PEOPLE'S BEATS BEFORE SO ITS A 360 DEGREES - ITS ALL GOOD," Necro said.

It will be interesting to see what Necro has cooked up for his return. Fans who have been pining for some new material do not have to wait much longer to hear Fuck Commercial Rap.
