New EP alert: Just Blaze's The Upside Down Vol. 1 is dropping sooner than you think. The 38-year-old producer took to Twitter yesterday (July 26) to announce the good news.

Around 7 p.m. EST on Tuesday, Just Blaze made the announcement along with a series of follow-up tweets. One fan replied, saying he hopes the EP consists of all 80's samples. Blaze responded, "No samples. But I'll be digging up all my old moog demos."

The "old moog" wording then prompted a tweet from New York rapper Your Old Droog. Just then suggested that Droog should send over a verse for the forthcoming EP. Droog has jumped on a Just instrumental before, when he laid down a verse for the song "Before I Go."

Just Blaze contributed to Snoop Dogg's recent COOLAID album on the track "Super Crip," which features an updated version of the classic G-funk sound. You can purchase COOLAID from iTunes now for $9.99.
