More than a year after the Drake and Meek Mill beef first popped off, DJ Drama finally offers some clarity about his own involvement in the ordeal. Today (July 12), Drama pays a visit to Hot 97's Ebro in the Morning and breaks down the details for Ebro, Laura Stylez and Peter Rosenberg.

The Philadelphia-born DJ states, "I'm gonna say this and then we're gonna put it to rest. My involvement in the situation was the fact that [Meek] thought he was getting dissed." Of course, Drama is referencing the "R.I.C.O." line, in which Drake says, "The girl of your dreams to me is probably not a challenge."

Drama told Meek the line was not a diss, because Drake didn't even write the lyrics. Drama tells Ebro, "I was like, 'Bro, he's not dissing you. He's not dissing you... those weren't technically his bars.'"

At that point, Meek tweeted out that Drake has a ghostwriter, and the beef escalated from there. "I had a conversation with my man about something and from there it just blew out of proportion," Drama said.

The 38-year-old DJ also denies leaking any of the reference tracks, which caused a stir because they proved Drizzy was getting help with his bars. Drama says, "Ask Flex where he got the records from, he didn't get them from me. Go ask Meek where he got the records from, he didn't get them from me. It goes against my business, and it goes against my ethics."
