A new Young Greatness project is on the way. The New Orleans rapper released a trailer to announce that a new mixtape titled I Tried to Tell Em 2 will be released on July 8.

Young Greatness has seen his profile rise due to the success of his "Moolah" single and his signing to Quality Control. The Louisiana native spoke to XXL earlier this year and explained that Quality Control gives their artists a lot of freedom.

"I ain’t gonna lie, the great part about QC: Man, they let us work," Young Greatness said. “They trust us. They like, ‘We signed these niggas for a reason; they know what the fuck they doing.’ They know one thing about me: ‘Greatness gonna get in there, he gonna work, he gonna make good records, he gonna have his shit together, and he gonna be ready to go when his number called.’ On this label you got to hold your own. Ain’t no babies, babying you and walking you through this. Nah. you want it, nigga? You gotta earn it."

Young Greatness hopes that "Moolah" is just the beginning as he has aspirations to be the next big star of the New Orleans hip-hop scene.

"I have goals to be the next star to come out of New Orleans and I have a strategic plan," the rapper told XXL. "I’m confident in myself. I believe in myself, and at this point and time for my city, it’s going to be big for New Orleans. I got to do it. I don’t have another choice."

Fans will get to see if Young Greatness can reach those lofty goals upon the release of I Tried to Tell Em 2 next month.
