Back in February, the RIAA announced that they will take on-demand audio and video streams into account when tabulating record sales, meaning that more plaques will be handed out as the recording industry got with the times. Then, it resulted in platinum plaques for Kendrick Lamar and Big Sean, but now, Wale is getting an influx of wall decoration as the RIAA awards him several platinum and gold plaques for past releases.

Wale's 2013 album The Gifted is now certified gold. His single "Bad" with Tiara Thomas is now officially double platinum, while "The Matrimony" featuring Usher off The Album About Nothing is now gold. 2011's "Lotus Flower Bomb" featuring Miguel meanwhile is certified platinum.

The news comes at an opportune time for the MMG rapper as he gears up to release his new album SHINE this coming fall. He released his mixtape Summer on Sunset just last week (June 18) and performed his current single "My PYT" on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon a few days prior. He likewise figures to play a central role in the upcoming MMG collaborative album Self Made 4, rapping alongside Meek Mill and Rick Ross on "Make it Work" which dropped earlier this month.

Many congratulations extended Wale's way as he receives his new plaques. That's one heavy UPS delivery he's likely looking forward to. Download Summer on Sunset which includes features from Ty Dolla $ign, Cam’ron and more today.
