Today (June 7), TMZ reports that a judge is granting The Game's request to postpone a court hearing for his sexual assault lawsuit in Chicago. According to legal documents, the Compton artist cites the recent outbreak of violence in the Midwest city and thinks there will be revenge shootings throughout the upcoming weeks. The Game doesn't want to get caught in any crossfire.

In his request, the "100" rapper mentions the violence that took place during Memorial Day weekend in Chicago, where 69 people were shot and six people died. Most of the gunfire occurred on the city's West Side. Priscilla Rainey, who filed the lawsuit against The Game, didn't oppose the court hearing postponement. The judge has yet to set a new date for the hearing.

Rainey, a contestant on The Game's VH1 reality show She's Got Game, originally sued the emcee in August 2015 for $10 million. According to Rainey, during shooting for the show in May 2015, The Game became inebriated and "out of control." She alleges that he "forcefully reached his hand inside her dress to rub her bare vagina and buttocks."

In February, Game lost the sexual assault case after failing to respond to the Rainey's complaint. However, Rainey must now prove why she deserves the $10 million in damages in a trial set to start in November, unless the accuser and the accused reach a settlement beforehand. Stay locked to XXL for more news regarding The Game's upcoming hearing and subsequent sexual assault trial.
