The sole fatality in the Irving Plaza shooting in New York City, Ronald "Banga" McPhatter, was laid to rest today in Brooklyn.

News 12 was on hand reporting that "tons of family and friends" gathered to say their goodbyes at Brown Memorial Baptist Church where the homegoing service took place.

McPhatter, an affiliate with Troy Ave's BSB outfit, was struck along with four other individuals when gunfire broke out backstage during a T.I. concert at Irving Plaza on May 26. The other victims, including Troy Ave, all suffered non-life threatening injuries. Unfortunately, Banga was shot in the chest during the chaos and later pronounced dead at Beth Israel Hospital.

The circumstances of the shooting are still trying to be pieced together by the NYPD. What we do know, thanks to footage that has been released, is a fight broke out in the VIP while the opening acts were still performing. Immediately afterward, shots started to ring out.

One of the people who took a bullet in the incident has been identified as 26-year-old model Maggie Hackstall.

Troy Ave, who was recently released from the hospital, has been hit with attempted murder and gun charges in relation to the shooting. Cameras in the venue captured him shooting a single shot at an unpictured target leading to his arrest.

He claims he was the victim and his lawyer Scott Leemon is seeking the public's assistance with helping to exonerate his client. Police are currently seeking a second shooter.
